The magical mountain in Iceland
Kirkjufell Mountain means Chruch Mountain because it is considered to resemble a church and the mountain next to it, Stöðin, is said to resemble a congregation hall. The mountain consists of a series of layers. In fact, the layers are results of many volcanic eruptions. Kirkjufell looks completely transformed from in the summer too in the winter. During the summer, it comes alive with vivid shades of green and red foliage and during the winter, it becomes a snow-covered mountain. It shines with a sparkling light under the midday sun & provides the best scenic backdrop during the Northern lights & looks magical. You can even hike to the top of the mountain as there is a hiking trail around the mountain, which is very convenient & offers you a great view of the mountain from all sides. The surrounding area of Kirkjufell is full of bird & marine life.
