Meet Emmanual Karbhari: A Photojournalist from Mumbai
1. What according to you makes the art of photography unique?
Art in any form is unique in its own way. Thats why every artist and his artworks are different from each other. What make photography special is the visual treat we give to the audience. The way we visualise the world around us. Capturing things in our own way. Showcasing the world our thought process about life. Making it large!
Also Photos have a unique way of telling a story. As they say a single photograph is worth thousand words.
2. For how long have you been into photography?
Its been 7 years i have been into this stream of photojournalism. I started my career as an intern with Midday News Tabloid, later i was with DNA and currently I work as a freelance photojournalist for The Hindu (Mumbai Edition).
3. What motivated you to dive into this form of art?
Photographs have the power bring in change. As a photojournalist, everyday is a new day when we move out of the house. And that’s what makes it more interesting learning new things, new challenges everyday.
4. Have you experienced any changes in yourself ever since you started doing this?
A lot of changes!
As a photojournalist I have started to explore different perspectives of a single element. Trying to find something interesting in every moment I go through. Photographs which look simple are the most complicated one to understand. With new challenges everyday its has helped to be brush my decision making skills. And just like a camera I’ve been focusing on the better part of life.
5. How has your journey been so far?
Its always been a Roller Coaster Ride since the start to now!
In this 7 years of photojournalism i have always been up and down phases. Some days have been the best gave me so many memories to cherish and some hard days which taught me a lot. But overall its a fun ride! And wish it gets better going ahead.
6. Were people around you, who know you personally, supportive of your pursuit?
To be frank, I feel blessed that I found so many people who supported me throughout the journey. Firstly my family and my friends who kept on motivating all the while.
