Meet Vivek Kashyap: Top 3 Photographers in India 2018 by Fearless Photographers

WallMag: Tell our readers a bit about yourself.

Hi, I am Vivek Kashyap, I love travelling and photographing people and happy to call it my profession as well. I was also listed as top 100 wedding photographers in the world by Fearless Photographers.

WallMag: When did you first know you wanted to be a wedding photographer?

Photography was a long-standing hobby of mine, constantly up with my amateur tries at the portrait and conceptual photographs during my college days. Well to recollect my journey into wedding photography, it was just a coincidence when I got a message from Siddharth ( founder of House on the Clouds) whom I admired lot for his conceptual photos and had applied to be an intern with him, luckily enough he had happened to shoot his second wedding at that time and wanted a second shooter and wanted me to join along with him. This was my first ever interaction in shooting a wedding. But It was after quite a few weddings with Siddharth during my college days and after graduating, and was waiting for my joining letter from an IT company that I got placed into, and that I knew to capture those small moments and meeting new people along the way made me sure about me being a wedding photographer is what I wanted to do than a 9-5 job.

WallMag: What’s your favourite part about being a wedding photographer?

There are many things that make it special for me in being a wedding photographer, I am fortunate enough to get the best and crazy clients who are more of friends than clients now, Also being able to travel a lot seeing new places each time while having a great time and calling it as my work is adding a cherry on the top.

WallMag: What advice would you give to a couple looking for a wedding photographer?

In my opinion, firstly beautiful photographs are created when there is synergy between the expectations and ideas of both. That being said there is neither a dream photographer and nor a dream couple; rather a dream team that emerges when people who complement each other come together and are willing to work as one. Secondly Finding someone who is true to your ascetics and trusting your photographer matters a lot. When you’re done with this don’t forget to be in love and don’t feel shy in front of the lens.

WallMag: Share some of the best moments you have had as a wedding photographer?

I am very happy in saying I take back a lot of good memories from every wedding which I shoot, but there is one wedding which I shot in Kufri where the couple asked us to stay at their house for a couple of days after the wedding with the family, where me and my teammate happily obliged. Little did we know we would have the best time of our lives. Not only did we get to stay at their place but also visited their families and had some crazy bonfires and bbq’s sessions whilst enjoying the mountain views and creating beautiful photographs with the couple and their family. Will never forget those few days.

WallMag: How would you describe your style and approach?

My approach towards wedding photography entirely depends on the couple and the wedding. I believe every photograph I take should tell some story about the couple and how the wedding felt like. But keeping that in mind I try to take photographs that are ARTISTIC UNUSUAL FRESH & EDGY at the same time.
