How did your journey as a mobile photographer start?
Since my B.Tech days, I have been capturing pictures and emotions of the people around me in college. That's when I started flourishing my mobile photography career, and my journey began with my mother's support. She has always been my biggest inspiration and encouragement.
What was the first mobile photo you took that made you realize your passion for photography?
I captured a man holding an umbrella during Ganesh Visarjan, and that image had a human emotional touch to it. That's when I realized my passion for photography. My mother also has photography skills, and I think I inherited that from her. My elder brother, Asrith, has also been a great support. Capturing is not just about skills; it's about how you process the perfect moment through observation and creativity.
How has your experience with mobile photography grown over the years?
I still consider myself a learner in the world of mobile photography. My journey has been about observing, experimenting, and learning from every photograph I capture. In the beginning, understanding lighting, angles, composition, and timing was challenging, but every challenge helped me improve my visual sense. I believe photography is a continuous learning process, and with every image, I discover something new. I am still exploring my style and developing my skills, but my passion for capturing meaningful moments continues to grow.
What do you find most challenging about mobile photography compared to traditional photography?
One of the biggest challenges in mobile photography is working within the limitations of a smartphone camera. Lighting conditions, distance, movement, and environmental situations can sometimes make it difficult to capture the exact image I imagine. However, I see these limitations as creative challenges. They encourage me to experiment with different angles, perspectives, and compositions. Mobile photography has taught me that a powerful photograph does not always depend on expensive equipment; observation, timing, patience, and creativity are equally important.
What photo best represents your best mobile photography work?
This photograph represents the emotions and struggles hidden behind the celebration of Ganapati Visarjan. I wanted to capture more than just the event; I wanted to focus on the human emotions surrounding the moment. Every face, movement, and expression carries a different story. Through my perspective, I tried to preserve the authenticity and emotional energy of the scene. For me, photography is about observing these unnoticed human moments and transforming them into visual stories.
Can you share a photo that shows a creative use of natural light?
I captured the photograph using my mobile phone and focused mainly on observation, timing, and camera angle. Before taking the shot, I studied the scene and tried to understand which perspective would best represent the subject. I experimented with framing and composition to highlight the important elements of the image. My approach is to observe the environment carefully and wait for the right moment. I believe the angle and timing of a photograph can completely change the emotion and story it communicates.
What photo tells a story or captures a meaningful moment for you?
The photograph was captured during an early morning car journey when I noticed a beautiful sunrise. It was an unexpected moment that immediately caught my attention. The changing light, peaceful atmosphere, and feeling of travelling created a unique visual experience. I wanted to preserve that simple moment through my camera. For me, journeys are filled with unexpected scenes, and photography allows me to capture those small but beautiful moments that might otherwise disappear with time.
What video clip or time-lapse have you captured with your mobile phone?
The video captures a beautiful sunset near the village fields around Vijayawada. The gentle breeze, open farmland, natural light, and peaceful surroundings created a calm and refreshing atmosphere. I wanted to capture the authenticity of village life and the natural beauty of the fields without making the scene feel artificial. The mood of the video is peaceful, warm, and nostalgic. It represents the simple beauty of nature and the quiet emotions we experience when we spend time away from the busy city environment.
What photo demonstrates your editing skills?
I used the basic editing tools available in my phone's photo gallery. My editing process was minimal because I wanted to maintain the natural and authentic appearance of the photograph. I mainly focused on cropping and framing the image properly to improve the composition and presentation. I made small adjustments where necessary, but I avoided heavy editing. My intention was to preserve the original mood and emotion of the photograph while presenting the subject in a visually balanced way.
What photo showcases your unique perspective or style in mobile photography?
This photograph represents my interest in capturing human emotions, expressions, and portraits from different perspectives. My mother and my elder brother, Asrith, were among the first people to notice something unique in the way I approached photography. Their encouragement motivated me to explore human portraits more deeply. Since then, I have tried to capture people in ways that reveal emotion and individuality rather than simply creating a traditional portrait. My style is still evolving, but I am strongly drawn to authentic human moments and visual storytelling through mobile photography.
