An upcoming national stage for India's singers
WallMag is preparing to unveil the WallMag Vocalist Awards 2026, an upcoming national recognition built for the singers who keep the human voice at the centre of their craft. This is an early word, not a launch. We want the vocalists who care most about tone, breath, and feeling to have the runway to choose their material carefully, record at the standard their voice deserves, and arrive at submissions with their strongest work.
WallMag Creator Magazine has always been a community-first publication, and our awards exist to put creators in the same room as the recognition, the readership, and the partner ecosystems they have already earned through years of practice and performance. The Vocalist Awards 2026 will continue that tradition, lifting the singers who can hold a room with a single line into a national conversation that recognises that gift for what it is.
About the award
The WallMag Vocalist Awards 2026 celebrate India's most emotive singers, voices that make a melody unforgettable, whether classical, contemporary, indie, playback, or experimental. The award invites solo vocal performances across languages, genres, and traditions, recordings that prove the human voice is still the most expressive instrument we have.
Entries will be evaluated through a curated industry jury working alongside an open community vote, recognising tone, technique, and emotional impact. We are listening for control and surrender in the same breath, for the singers who can sit inside a phrase without crowding it. Selected creators will earn national visibility, partner brand collaboration opportunities, and a place in WallMag's music legacy.

Who it's for
If you have spent years sharpening a voice that you trust to carry a song on its own, this award has been built with you in mind. We are thinking specifically of:
- Independent solo vocalists across languages and genres
- Classical and semi-classical vocalists
- Indie, contemporary, and playback singers
- Vocal experimentalists, beatboxers, and crossover artists
There are no language, tradition, or experience restrictions inside vocal music. Some of the most powerful voices in the country are working in regional languages and underground scenes that rarely make it onto a national platform. That breadth is exactly what we want this edition to surface.
What we're excited to see
Up to five projects per creator will be welcome, each one a complete piece or a coherent set telling a single story. We are especially excited to receive original solo vocal performances, recorded audio or video, across languages, genres, and traditions.
To keep the bar high and the playing field level, three principles guide every submission:
- Authentic ownership: Each submission must be created and fully owned by the creator.
- Maximum scope: Up to 5 unique projects may be shared.
- Integrity first: Any plagiarism, copied work, stock content, or AI-generated content results in immediate disqualification.
Each entry can carry a short note from the singer. A line on the song's origin, the choices behind your interpretation, or what you wanted the listener to feel can take the recording further than another caption ever could.
Prizes and recognition: an early preview
The recognition stack for this edition rests on three pillars: meaningful platform value, editorial visibility, and partner-led collaboration with the labels, studios, audio brands, and live-show partners shaping the country's music ecosystem. A two-month window sounds generous, but recording vocal performances at submission standard takes time. Block out studio days early and leave room for honest re-takes.

The work begins now, in the choices you make about repertoire, takes, and the room you record in. The best entries are rarely the loudest. They are the ones a singer has lived with long enough to know exactly which line carries the song and exactly when to step back from it. Pull out the songs you keep coming back to. Record them properly. Listen, rest, and listen again.
India's vocal landscape is one of the richest in the world, and we cannot wait to share what this generation is doing with that inheritance when submissions open in May.
