A National Stage Is Now Open
Entries are now open for the WallMag Food Creator of the Year Awards 2026 — a national recognition for the people who make India taste like India, and the broadest food award we have put our name to. It is not built around one cuisine, one kitchen, or one kind of training. It is built around the idea that good cooking deserves to be seen, whether it comes out of a hotel pass, a cloud kitchen, or a two-burner stove.
This is a celebration first and a competition second. The craft is the point: the thirty years behind a grandmother's measurements, the precision behind a laminated dough, the restraint behind a plate that does not try to prove anything. Submissions are live from today and close on 5 November 2026.
About the Award
The Food Creator of the Year Awards celebrate everyone the plate passes through — the home cook feeding a family on a budget, the chef running a line, the baker who learned from the internet, the barista pulling shots in a two-table café, the photographer who made a dal look like an occasion, and the vlogger who sent a thousand people to a street cart. Six groups, 33 categories, no gatekeeping by kitchen size or training.
Recognition here is deliberately two-sided. Every entry is seen by the WallMag creator community, whose votes decide the Top 100 finalists. Only then does an expert food jury begin its work, reviewing those hundred to choose the Top 3. Community voting alone would reward whoever arrives with the largest audience. A jury alone would be opaque. Together they produce something a creator can put on a profile and a stranger can reason about.
For winners and finalists, the outcome is national visibility, partner-brand rewards, a place in WallMag Creator Magazine, and a recognition certificate that carries a verifiable process behind it.
Who It's For
Any creator based in India, over eighteen. That is the whole eligibility bar. Hobbyist or professional, trained or self-taught, with a following or without one.
- Home cooks and chefs across North, South, East and West Indian cuisine, and regional and tribal cooking.
- Creators working in Mughlai, Chinese and Pan-Asian, Italian and Continental, Middle Eastern and fusion food.
- Bakers and pastry creators, from bread and cakes to Indian mithai and chocolate craft.
- Baristas, tea makers, mixologists and beverage creators.
- Food photographers and stylists.
- Recipe-reel makers, street-food vloggers, reviewers and food-science explainers.
If you cook a regional dish nobody outside your state has heard of, this one was written with you in mind.
What We're Excited to See
We are excited about food you cooked, baked, styled, shot, or documented and fully own — any cuisine, any kitchen, any language. Cooking a traditional or family recipe is welcome; what must be yours is the cooking, the shooting and the telling. Credit the source in your entry description.
Three principles govern every submission:
- Authentic ownership: every entry must be made and fully owned by you.
- Integrity first: AI-generated, stock-licensed, traced or plagiarised work is disqualified without refund.
- Quality over budget: submit at the highest quality you can, but production spend is never the judging criterion.
The Categories
You may submit up to five entries. Enter each under the category that fits it best — 33 categories across 6 groups:

If your work sits between two of these, pick the closest one and say so in your entry description. We read every submission before it goes to the panel.
