Why We Launched This Award
Black and white photography asks something different of a creator. Strip away colour and what remains is the truest test of seeing — light, shadow, form, and the quiet emotion a single frame can hold. We launched the WallMag Black & White Photography Awards 2026 to give that way of seeing a stage of its own, and to celebrate the photographers across India who find soul in monochrome.
How Are Finalists Selected?
The Top 100 Finalists were chosen by the community. Every project earned a score from the votes it received, measured against the highest-scoring project in the award. We then ranked every creator by their best project, and the hundred highest-ranked creators became this year’s finalists.

How Are Winners Decided?
From here, our jury joins the community. The final score combines jury evaluation (80%) with community votes (20%), and the three highest-scoring creators will be named the winners. Voting stays open until 27 July 2026 — so if you’re a finalist, every vote your work earns between now and then still counts.
