Why We Launched This Award
India's rap scene doesn't wait for permission. From bedroom studios and cypher circles to college fests and street corners, a new generation of MCs is turning lived experience into verse β and most of it never gets the stage it deserves. We built the WallMag Rap Awards to change that: to put independent and underground Indian hip-hop in front of the people who actually listen, and to let the culture itself decide which bars hit hardest.
How Are Finalists Selected?
This year's Top 100 was chosen entirely by community votes. Every track earned a score from the votes it received, measured against the highest-scoring entry in the award; we then ranked every creator by their strongest project, and the top 100 became finalists. No fees, no gatekeepers β just the work and the people who backed it.

How Are Winners Decided?
From here, our jury steps in. The final score combines jury evaluation (80%) with community votes (20%) to decide the Top 3 winners, announced on 27 July 2026. Voting stays open until then β so every vote a finalist earns between now and the reveal still counts.
